Agfa HealthCare announces today that it has been awarded a new three-year contract with Novation, a leading healthcare supply contracting company, to provide computed radiography systems to more than 65,000 VHA, UHC and Provista member and affiliate organizations in the United States. VHA, UHC and Provista members can select from the wide range of high-quality computed radiography (CR) imaging systems from Agfa HealthCare based on their specific throughput and imaging needs.
Included on the contract are the following:
DX-G - A small footprint system supporting a wide range of applications
DX-M - Designed for digital mammography with needle IP technology but also capable of operating as a productive, dual purpose CR system for general radiography plus FFDM
CR 30-X - Ranked the #1 CR single plate product by KLAS for 2011
CR 35-X - A highly versatile small footprint digitizer that is specially designed for decentralized CR environments.
CR 85-X - Supports maximum productivity for the busiest departments with ten-cassette capacity
Range of solutions that meets the changing needs of imaging departments
"Agfa HealthCare is dedicated to continually enhancing our comprehensive CR portfolio and providing healthcare facilities with a range of solutions that enable them to efficiently acquire the high quality images they need," said Ray Russell, Director of Marketing and Corporate Accounts, Imaging, Agfa HealthCare U.S. "We are pleased to be extending our long term relationship with Novation, a sign that Agfa HealthCare has continued to advance its products and expand its portfolio to meet the changing needs of imaging departments."
Every CR system features Agfa HealthCare's NX workstation, which enables technologists to quickly and efficiently acquire images and complete the exam. With its intuitive user interface, NX requires minimal training while offering maximum convenience.
Also included is MUSICA², Agfa HealthCare's gold standard image processing software for excellent image quality, which makes use of the company's established NX platform for a smooth workflow. MUSICA² automatically analyzes the characteristics of each image and optimizes the processing parameters - independent of user input and dose settings. MUSICA² is unaffected by the presence of collimation or direct X-ray backgrounds in the image, leading to consistent, high quality results. The software can also improve the overall visibility of clinically relevant structures, making particularly low-contrast details more easily perceptible. Moreover, all Agfa HealthCare's CR solutions come with a fully featured dose management tool set including Agfa HealthCare's Dose Monitoring, Exposure Index and Repeat/Reject analysis.
Long-term relationship
This contract, effective May, 1, 2012, is the latest in a series of agreements between Agfa HealthCare and Novation, dating back to 2006. Agfa HealthCare also has Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Digital Radiography (DR) contracts with Novation.
